Bluestocking & Bookworm
I love stories.
More importantly, I believe in stories--stories that make the world go round, stories that let us live a thousand lives without leaving home, stories that show us what we never imagined, and stories that make us feel less alone.
That's why reading and writing have always been two of the most important parts of my life.
I read across a wide variety of genres, although my personal writing interest is literary fiction, and I'm always thrilled to get new recommendations.
I completed my MFA at the Iowa Writers' Workshop. I also have an MA in the humanities (MAPH) from the University of Chicago. I've completed the Editing Certificate at the University of Chicago Graham School and the Museum Studies Certificate from Northwestern University's Continuing Education program.
For several years, I worked as the sole website editor and marketing writer at a Chicago-based law firm. I've taught composition in the City Colleges and currently work as an undergraduate reading and writing specialist at National Louis University.
I have two cats, Clio and Calliope (collectively, the Mewses). Outside of reading, I like theater, baking, arguing about television and experimenting with different arts and crafts.
